Everyone who lives in the Northern Hemisphere will get sick of having no sun during the winter months and of the weather getting cold. Your skin will loose its summer tan and the piles of clothes you put on seems to never end. I was the same way and got tired of being cold all the time and was looking to escape and book last minute travel getaways for me and a few friends.

Before you always had to go to a vacation agency and get them to do the lookups for vacation deals and you were at the mercy of your agent in what they tell you. Most are pretty good but I chose to do the planning myself. Maybe I just like to keep things under my own control, but it feels great having more control of where you can look. With the advent of the internet and all the companies using it to advertise services the ability to find great deals online was quite easy. From sell offs to off time of the year sales, the ways to save were bountiful, so I could get to the south where the sun is abundant.

There are many sites, and you might notice that the sales they carry are different. Some focus on last minute travel Caribbean where they get the best deals for places in the Caribbean. Other retailers have their focus on places like Europe or other locations to the east. In my case I went with sites like red tag and sell off vacations as they clearly cater to my choice of fun in the sun.

One thing to remember, many lower rated resorts, such as two to three star resorts, will come up with the best and cheapest deals. They will however also have the four or five star resorts. They will just obviously be more expensive and they likely won’t be the first ones to appear. With booking last minute, I left myself open with the places to go. If you want to pick an exact resort, then you may never find the deal you want at the time your are looking for, so you can’t be as picky. If you keep your options open to different islands, you can get an even cheaper deal and who knows, you might pick a place you wouldn’t have otherwise and end up really enjoying it as a new vacation hot spot.
