New South Wales, the obvious choice for any Australian holiday maker! New South Wales is home to Sydney, probably the most popular and famous city across the whole of Australia. This is the most likely reason why anyone would want to visit Australia. If you have ever been, you will more than likely have visited Sydney, and it is on all of the tours across Australia. There is so much for people to do here and plenty to see as well!

So what is there in Sydney to try and, what is there to do? Well Sydney is filled with tourist attractions, one of the main ones being the Sydney Opera House! Famous for its architectural design, this is unique to any other building across the world! Then there is the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge, which offers those of you that are more adventurous the chance to climb up!

Of course there is also the opportunity to go jet skiing around the harbour with a powerful 420 HP jet ski underneath you! This also allows you to get a good view of Sydney from a different view point! Don’t forget that you can also take part in a bike tour of Sydney as well, which will lead you across the city with tour guides! They will take you to all of the major sites and stop off at pubs and restaurants for refreshments!

Then there is Queensland, home to Brisbane and Cairns! Brisbane is one of the more modern cities in Australia, and ideal for you shopping fanatics! This is a very unique Tropical Metropolis, it is the one place for you sports enthusiasts to visit as well, great for divers, surfers, rugby fans and American football fans!

Then there is Cairns, the front door to the Great Barrier reef, for you guys that enjoy a trip underwater! This is an open small town that is situated in the open plains of Australia, great for those that enjoy an outdoorsy experience!

However when combined Brisbane and Cairns make for amazing Australia Tours, mainly because they have such massive contrasts! New South Wales holidays and Australian holidays both benefit from this!

Why Do People Love Going To France For A Holiday?

August 2nd, 2010 |

One of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe and the World is France and it has actually been voted the best place to visit by many people. What is it though about France that attracts so many people? Why do so many people in the World talk about its capital city Paris all the time? The numerous things that you can see and do in France is probably the main reason and anyone who has ever been there will agree. From the French Alps to the French Rivera it seems that there is something to suit everybody.

Another attraction for us in the UK would be the French weather. The French always seem to have sunny weather from the early spring to the end of autumn, especially when it comes to the south of the country, unlike here in the UK when we can never make any weather based plans. Most of France has mild winters, but you can depend on skiing in the French Alps. But for many people there is more to France than just the weather. The French culture is very impressive and their class and style is something that you really don’t experience anywhere else on the planet.

It is extremely easy to get around France too. The public transport is superb and the roads are excellent so you will never find it hard to reach your destination. Getting from England to France is so easy these days; we have so many options when it comes to getting from one country to another but by far the shortest way to travel between the two countries is the Channel Tunnel; a journey which takes only thirty five minutes. France is a very tourist orientated country and there are plenty of hotels available; it is possible to find accommodation to suit all budgets. You will be in heaven if you like to eat and drink out because the food in France and the wine are out of this world. France really is a great place to visit.

City breaks Europe style are becoming very fashionable. France hotels are among the best in Europe when thinking about this option. A lot of them are pet friendly hotels to boot. In today’s faltering economy, nothing beats a short city break.

Europe’s Best Cities

July 29th, 2010 |

If a trip to Europe is on this summer’s calendar, there are certain cities that you just can not miss. These cities are the homes of many famous and important sites and offer much insight into the many cultures of Europe.

London is, arguably, the most diverse city on the planet. More languages are spoken by its inhabitants than in any other city in the world and it is a real melting pot of cultures. There are a huge range of things to keep you entertained in London - theaters, museums, art galleries and famous buildings. You think that you can every major city has those, but what is on offer in London is a cut above what you will find elsewhere. It is a paradise for shoppers, music lovers and sports too. Whether it is designer clothes, live music or star filled sports teams you want, you will not be disappointed.

Do not miss Barcelona. The capital of the Catalan region of Spain; it sits on the Mediterranean coast. Its unique culture and its interesting history are evident in its architecture, galleries and museums. You will find everything from Roman ruins to beautiful churches. Do not forget the beaches. Sports fans can catch a game of football at the Camp Nou. Camp Nou is home to what is considered to be the very best football team on earth.

You must see Venice! This city is actually a group of islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea that are linked together by a system of canals. At one time, Venice was one of the most powerful of European cities. It was a merchant shipping center as well as a bastion of naval power. Venice is the home of incredible architecture. It was also the birthplace of much important Renaissance art and you can still see these important pieces in Venice. Venice can be navigated by foot but, better yet, find some time to travel the “streets” of Venice by Gondala. You will not regret it.

Paris is known for being the romance capital of the world but it offers much more besides romance. There are several internationally renowned buildings and monuments to found there, including Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe and, of course, the Eiffel Tower. There is a general ambience around the whole place that can not be matched elsewhere, and the river Seine, which runs through the city, further adds to its character. Everywhere you turn you will find picturesque buildings, parks and quaint streets. Culture lovers will know all about th The Louvre, and there are many other galleries and museums too. The food is wonderful, and with a vast array of restaurants you will have no problems sampling it for yourself.

Unforgettable Nile River Cruises

July 27th, 2010 |

I’ve been lucky enough to travel in many different continents and countries throughout my life. I’ve had the chance to admire many of nature’s beauties that some times made me wonder whether they were real or not. From the mighty Iguacu Waterfalls in the borders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguy to the breath taking site of Machu Pichu and from the solitude of Sahara to the deep blue of the Aegean Sea my eyes have seen so much and my senses have experienced even more.

When it comes to choosing one of all those moments, I would definitely recall my time in the river Nile as the most electrifying one. It’s not easy to explain the reasons for such a choice but I guess it has to do with the incredible energy that Nile transmits. I had never considered river cruises as they didn’t seem fun to me.

Until that day, I had never seen so much beauty anywhere else than into the sea, with the Mediterranean being my favourite one. Rivers were not really appealing to me although I’ve lived in cities crossed by great rivers such as the Danube and the Amazon.

So, it was during the time I was in Egypt when a good friend of mine came across various cruise deals and convinced me that we should picked one up. According to his beliefs, for some of the greatest experiences in life there is only one chance which should not be missed. There were so many tour operators selling Nile River Cruises at Aswan that buying one didn’t take us more than 10-15 minutes.

And what an experience it was, travelling in the mighty river Nile. Because of its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea there is a similar atmosphere. Just the thought that we were traversing the world’s longest river made me shiver and think of how many people’s lives were depending on that river which stretches all the way from Egypt to Ethiopia. So intense was the experience I had that it makes no wonder why ancient Egyptians worship had the Nile at its center.

View Australia On Holiday From A Different View!

July 25th, 2010 |

Been to Australia in the past? Why not take a different swing on things down under! Instead of going to Sydney or Melbourne, explore more of Australia and as much of it’s glory as possible. You have no fly drive holidays to worry about, this is definitely more on the relaxing front. It’s time to take a different perspective! Why not try going Cruise Australia, take a different view of the Australian Coastline!

Cruises have always been a popular holiday experience. You can travel down and then back up the coastline on the eastern side with the chance to pit stop a various destinations. The Coral Trekker is one of the most popular Cruises kicking off in Australia.

You arrive at Abel point on your first day and depart from the port into the open ocean, for a gentle warm cruise. The 3 days allow you to enjoy a diving experience and some splendid site seeing from the ship itself, not to mention that the Cruise boats have a massive amount of entertainment aboard the ship! Everything is free, at least the grub is, sorry you will actually have to pay for everything else, you will need to pay for drinks, and you need to pay for more activities.

Australian Tours in this way allow you to experience Australia from a different angle, which means when you go back to Australia you can see it a unique way!

Although pack lightly, it is also important to remember to bring some variety of clothing, so do try to make sure you have different items of clothing! Try not to put too much stuff in your luggage, it is a good idea to remember that you can always buy a jumper when you get there, not to mention head in doors!

Enjoy Australian holidays from a different view point this year and indulge in a cruising trip down the Eastern Coast!

Motorhome Getaways Mean Memorable Family Vacations

July 19th, 2010 |

Would you love to take your kids on some motorhome holidays? Can imagine packing up your house on wheels and just driving to whatever destination that you want to go to. To kids it is like traveling with your own personal hotel being towed behind your truck.

There are many benefits to packing a travel trailer rather than flying and staying in hotel. To start driving holidays are usually much cheaper than ones that require flying, there is so much more to see along the way to your destination, you can stop whenever you want and stretch and it is very comforting for children to have their own stuff with them when traveling.

One of the best parts of having your trailer with you is the simple fact that you can bring all your own food which will take away a major expense. Eating out in restaurants at least three times a day is very expensive and can be very fattening. Plus it can be pretty stressful to try and find a good restaurant and if kids are really hungry all of a sudden it can create a lot of tension with the risk of destroying the holiday.

With trailers there’s the obvious selection to play games while driving to assist maintain the children attention away from irritation a single an additional. Some well-liked games are eye spy with my small eye and counting vehicle colors. A game that’s generally well appreciated by the driver and also the co-driver may be the quiet game and if successful can purchase several hours of peace.

A potentially large downfall for that travel trailer vacations might be that they are a lot more time consuming that just hopping on the plane and getting for your destination inside a couple of several hours. But should you appear at it like valuable loved ones time rather than wasting time then it turns out to become an additional advantage.

Flights are so quick and hectic that they’re generally very stressful for families vacationing together. Getting to complete airport security on the normal day alone isn’t a lot enjoyable but whenever you throw children into the mix it could make it ten occasions a lot more annoying.

Clearly the best way to travel as a family would be a motorhome holiday. The time together is priceless and the things that are seen and experienced are remembered by kids for a lifetime.

Travelling Alone

July 13th, 2010 |

A lot of people go on a holiday once or twice a year or even more. Some go on holiday with their friends and some go with their family. Whether it is luxury cruises holiday or a normal bag packing tour to Asia and Europe. There are some people who like to travel by themselves.

I like to enjoy things in my own time and I won’t have too many responsibilities travelling alone than travelling with my family. When travelling with family you cannot have a travel free journey because you have some regulations when you are with family. When you are alone and single you can do whatever you want, guys you know what I mean, but with family there are restrictions then you need think about before doing anything. This doesn’t mean anything illegal or something stupid.

By free I don’t mean silly things, I mean you can just stay in a hostel in cheap price, or camp out with people from different countries and stuff. If you go with your family then you will have to plan everything before hand so that it doesn’t become a disaster holiday. A year ago I went on silversea cruises to the Caribbean, I didn’t plan my stay I just camped out with my fellow travellers and the locals. It was an awesome experience.

My next plan is to travel South East Asia before I settle down. I want to do this on my own as well because this also gives me an opportunity to see how people are living in poor condition and learn different cultures of the World. I am also planning to do some volunteer work in India and Nepal for a children’s charity. After that I can go back to my royal Caribbean cruises and rest for few months in the lovely Bahamas.

Things To See And Do On The Isle Of Arran

June 22nd, 2010 |

Situated in the mouth of the Firth of Clyde the island of Arran is often called “Scotland in miniature”.  Like the nation of Scotland the Isle of Arran has an incredibly diverse flora, fauna and varied scenery, the island features moors, glens, sandy beaches, lochs, rocky coves and even features a lowlands and highlands region. To complete the likeness the Isle of Arran also has standing stones, a distillery, castles, a brewery, museums and superb local crafts and produce. The Isle of Arran is a superior destination for a vacation, especially for tourist who enjoy walking or similar. In the article below I describe Isle of Arran attractions and a quick look at hotel accommodation on Arran.

Brodick Castle

Brodick Castle is an grand red sandstone structure which in the past was the property of the dukes of Hamilton. Situated outside Brodick, enveloped by beautiful parks and gardens Brodick Castle occupies the site of an old Viking fortress. Visiting Brodick Castle is a superb day out for all of the family children will thoroughly enjoy the adventure playground while older members of the family will enjoy the castle’s fascinating collection of fine art, silver and porcelain. You should allow roughly 2 hours to explore the castle.

Arran Heritage Museum

Arran Heritage Museum is housed, on the site of a small school, in Brodick and is open from April-Oct from ten thirty in the morning to four thirty in the evening. Consisting of a selection buildings; a cottage, smiddy (blacksmith), farmhouse and croft as well as laundry, stable, milk house, coach house and harness room and more. Exhibits reflect the social history, geology and archaeology of the Isle of Arran.

Isle of Arran Distillery

Wherever you visit  in Scotland it seems as though are never any great distance from something associated with the whisky industry for example a distillery. The Isle of Arran Distillery employs traditional methods in the newest distillery in Scotland. The distillery is open to tourists from April-Oct and it features a visitor centre and restaurant.

Isle of Arran Brewery

The Isle of Arran Brewery is found next to entrance to Brodick Country Park.  People can view the process of brewing from observation windows and a viewing gallery as well as getting a sample of the produce. The micro-brewery utilises the latest high-tech equipment to brew an ale using natural ingredients without artificial additives.

Lochranza Castle

The last Isle of Arran tourist attraction I wish to discuss is Lochranza Castle located on the North coast. On first look it appears as ruins 16th century towerhouse but it is possible to gain access to the interior using keys from the local shop/Post Office. Once inside the L-plan tower you start to see hints of a grand structure.

Accommodation On Arran

Finding the most suitable accommodation on the Isle of Arran shouldn’t be incredibly difficult as Isle of Arran hotels are found in the majority of the main villages (Lamlash, Brodick and Blackwaterfoot all feature the minimum of 1 hotel as well as guest house accommodation). Places to look out for include the Glenisle Hotel and the Lamlash Bay Hotel (in Lamlash), the Auchrannie Spa Resort (in Brodrick,) and the Best Western Kinloch Hotel (in Blackwaterfoot) which all have a superb reputation.
