They’re took lessons. They has practiced til their hands bled. And they own the greatest or latest equipment.

And…

They are NOT playing any better!

Why?

Because their body is kept them from what they think they can do. There was a gap between the mind and the body.

The sooner you realize your body is the “magic bullet’, the sooner you can start your exercise training for golf and see real results.

This results will be long lasting too!

5 Steps To Enjoy Golf More

September 21st, 2009 |

Some times it is just as they say, a good walk spoiled, but we all love the game of golf. Here are a few ways to enjoy golf more.

  • Forbidden play blue tees.

Unless you are at least a 10 handicap or lower, why bother making the golf course even harder than it has to be. If you are shooting in the 90’s or triple digits, it makes no sense making a conscious decision to making the course more difficult.Plays the white tees also takes the extra levels of anxiety out of the equation.

  • Improve your lie

There is no way you should be playing the strict rules of golf, when you are having a recreational round of golf. The average round of golf would be at least six hours at course all over the world.  Golfers would be returning to the tees all day after hitting there first ball out bounds, or searching for every lost ball for 5 minutes.

So if we are bending the rules to save time, why not bend them to improve your lie, something you can actually benefit from.Play winter rules all your time.

  • Don’t play same games

Compete in other categories other than score, instead playing the same match with your buddies.  Some examples would be:

Most fairways hit

Least amount of 3 putts

Most 1 putts

  • If it is your honor, take it.

You just birdie the hardest (or easiest) hole on the golf course, it’s your tee, you earned it, take it. You will be surprised how often you can have two birdies in a row if you are actually trying to get  two birdies in a row, challenge yourself to get another one.

  • Lower of expectations.

You don’t practice as much as you should, if you are a average golfer you play golf twice per week if you’re lucky, on top of that.. You can not honestly think that your games are not exactly what it should be.

Don’t be so hard on yourself when you’re not playing well, just enjoy the game itself. Even the pros have not nice days.

Dont Get Ripped Off On Golf Vacation

September 13th, 2009 |

Whether it’s a quick weekend getaway or a 10 day golf adventure to the Caribbean, there is one thing in common with all golf trips and vacations… rip-offs are common.

Here are a few things to be careful of when booking your next golf trip.

1. Cart Fees.

Many courses will require you to rent a cart, even though your package deal never mentioned it. Make sure you know up front if cart fee are included and or required.

2. Course Surcharges

You may be offered to “upgrade” to a better course when you arrive at your destination. This is a common practice in alot areas. The fact are that the course you “upgrade” to in many cases will not be any better than the course you are booked on.

3. Internet Deals

Many golf trips these days are sold by internet resellers. Price might be right, but they have no idea of the local market. They are selling a commodity and could care less what other events are happening in the area or what local conditions are. Dealing with local people in the area you plan to visit would eliminate many of these surprises.

4. Does you need a package deal?

You will find that package deals sometimes will costs you more than just booking a hotel and a “golf” market and winging it. Once you book your accommodations, the concierge or front desk would be able to direct you to the best deals. These work especially during the off peak times. So many people get involved in the package deals that the prices can be increased by 50-75% over what it would cost you to book it yourself.

To save a ton of money, call the local area Better Business Bureau (all the offices are online at bbb.com) and ask for information on the local public courses. In addition just Google “Golf In, you will came up with a ton of options.

6 Keys to Selecting The Right Golf School

September 13th, 2009 |

There are a lot tips to selecting the school which is worthy of the investment, and this is not an exhaustive list .

1) Golfing style

As with any topic or subject matter to learn, golf can be played in many styles. Some play conservatively, others, like me, more aggressively. But ultimately you have to choose school or instructor that matches you.

Your skills, your personality, your style.

2) Problem areas

I have trouble with slicing. I found that my shots slice to the right Consistently. You, to be sure, has at least one issue with your game and specific shots. You may want to find school to address and help correct that shortcoming. You would have had time (and money) well spent, If you come back from a long weekend and your slice has vanished.

3) Instructor to class-size ratio

This is a personal preference item. Some people learn in a group setting, even craze the interaction. It might also depend on what you are trying to gain the school which one you actually choose.

4) Price

If you improve your game, and thus your enjoyment,  golf is your life and no amount of money is too much. For other, there is a big obstacle. If you are considering a golf school then you know most start above $1500. There are some “big name” instructors offering half day lessons for $10,000.

Do not forget to add in travel, lodging, and food costs,  if you are price sensitive then, by all means. Many times these “incidentals” can double the overall cost.

5)  Proximity

What is your traveling distance? Is the schedule tight so slipping off in 100 miles for a half day lesson is all you can squeeze. When these offer last-minute specials you can jump on those quickly, One plus of keeping tabs on those schools “in your own backyard” is.

6) Length of training

It depends, like any good consultant would answer. It depend on whether you are looking for a long weekend, a day seminar, or wrapping vacation around the training. These is an important factor in choosing school so compare wisely.

Is Your Golf Swing OK

September 9th, 2009 |

For some, golf is one of those games that may shorten your lifespan. But for others, it is a grand game where patience and a good hip go a long way. While it may seem simple enough as all you need to do is to hit a metallic ball really hard to hurl it towards a hole at the other side, countless people have trounced in frustration because of it. Luckily, it doesn’t have to always be so bad.

Keep it simple, keep practicing

The keyword in the field of golf is regularity. If you can’t hit the ball the same way each and every single time, then you will definitely have bad scores. Such problems like short distance, slicing, hooks, and many other golfing maladies are caused by lack of consistency. Therefore, you are to achieve consistency by improving your form. The only way for your body to do the same thing in the same way is to train it, and train it well. Practice.

Learning how to swing your club properly should be simple enough as long as you practice. A good way to think about it is to use your spine as an axis and keep your grip on the club properly. Such techniques are used by professional golfers all around the world. While differences can be quite subtle, there are many different types of golf swings. The similarity is that they all adhere to this principle. If you learn how to apply these principles to your swing, then you shall have no problem in driving longer distances without slicing and having 90% of strokes landing on the fairway.

Economy of movement

The best thing to do with your golf swing is to reduce unnecessary movements. Think of it as energy conservation, since all of your energy is supposed to be focused on hitting the ball and not wasted on awkward movements that cause slicing and other problems in the first place. Get back to the basics and incorporate only the movements needed to hit the ball dead center. This should lower your handicap by 7-12 strokes in no time. With more practice, you will hit par or better every time. However, that is only if you do practice.

Get lessons

To learn more about how to improve golf swing, the most obvious thing is to receive instruction in an actual golf class. These classes would have equipment and instructors that can help you achieve perfection as long as you have the determination, discipline, and money to do it. Enrolling in such classes does require a fee, so you do need to be earning quite a bit before you can actually think of getting into it. However, you can become skilled at a slice if you get something done.

Read up

Others would try to find information over the internet. This is quite expedient, but the in a row gathered can be present quite conflicting. As there are many different ways to hit a golf ball, experts are divided in what is the best way to improve your golf swing. Your job in this is to find out what is best for you. Every golfer has a different body, so not everyone can adhere to the same swing.

By being able to adjust to your configuration, you can improve without having to break a back or hip to do it.

Good luck putting this information to good use. Once again thanks for reading.

Golf Club Head Covers

September 1st, 2009 |

Golf is an expensive game, it is much more expensive than playing football or even baseball, you need to get some training and golf apparel, and on top of that you got the equipment which is pretty pricey. If you are a golfer you are probably aware of this, and you probably know that there are a lot things you can use to protect your golf clubs.

Golf club heads, in particular, have to be taken cared of more than any other golfing accessory. No matter how meticulous you are with protecting your golf club heads, rust is inevitable. However, you can slow the problem down by getting the right shield - a golf club head cover, that is. Club heads are manufactured using chrome-plated carbon steel. Constant use of the club exposes the steel to moisture, abrasion, and friction, resulting, eventually, to rust (and a poor hit).

Using golf club head covers to protect the iron will help keep the area dry and delay rust formation. Some people say using club head covers will just trap the moisture in. For the stylish, funky golf club head covers could be a status symbol. Designer golf club head covers are available for sale to give your clubs that sophisticated look. If you’re into fun stuff, you can also buy golf club head covers that have profile designs. If you’re a fan of Bugs Bunny, there isn’t any reason why you couldn’t have a Bugs Bunny golf club head cover if you want to.

Again, golf, while criticized as being a game for the frail sportsman, is actually an activity that calls for more effort than it seems - intellectual effort, that is. However, none of the precise calculations would bring any golf game justice if the equipment of war are not in their best shape. Golf club heads are the most sensitive of all the golfing gear. Thus, they should be taken cared of and protected well with club head covers.

Golf Swing Training: Correct Your Swing Now

July 24th, 2009 |

There are many major and minor movements your body makes throughout the process of a golf swing which means that the actual mechanics of a golf swing are very complex. Since it can be so complex, it can also so wrong very easily. Every single thing about your swing needs to be perfect, from the stance that you take, all the way to the follow through.

Just by making one simple mistake, you can throw off your swing completely. And since you can not actually stand back and watch yourself when you perform a golf swing, you may not realize what types of flaws you have in your motion. This is why golf swing training is so important for improving your golf game.

To improve your golf swing you will first need to find out what you may be doing wrong. You can try setting up a camera and recording yourself at the driving range while you swing your different clubs. Then when you get home simply play the videos back and look for any problem areas that you may have.

If you’ve never done this before you may be shocked at what you see. This alone could probably help to drastically improve your golf swing. You may have picked up some bad habits along the way and not realized you have done so. Now that you can see what they are you can actively work to correct them. Once you find some flaws now you can probably find a golf swing training product to help correct them and replace your bad habits.

They should be able to suggest some products to you if you go down to your local golf store and inform them about what type of golf swing mistakes that you are making. You should write down any suggestions that they make. Then when you get home, hop on the computer and check them out online.

Golfers really seem to love to talk golf just as much as they play it. Online, there is certainly no shortage of golfers sharing their experiences with golf swing training products. If one product is nothing but fluff, you will find out online. On the other had, if another product is the holy grail of swing training, you will find out online as well. Just look for all the glowing reviews.

The Power of Subliminal Messages to Improve Your Golf Game

July 15th, 2009 |

It is said that the game of golf is 90% mental, so learning to control the inner game of golf is essential. Many golfers struggle for years until they learn how to use mental golf training techniques to their advantage. So until you know how to implement the mental game of golf, don’t spend any more money on the latest golf driver, golf training aid, or lessons.

What do subliminal messages have to do with golf, you may think? Well, Tiger Woods has used Subliminal Affirmations since the age of 13. Most of the other top PGA professionals also use powerful mental techniques - in fact, it is the missing ingredient that the top 5% of golfers use.

What are Subliminal Affirmations?

The way this technique works is that the (audio) messages go straight into your unconscious mind and bypass your conscious mind. Our unconscious mind controls our behavior and habits.

Your mind is sometimes filled with negative garbage that tells you that you can’t do this or that, and it is persistently putting you down. But, since these affirmations are subliminal, they bypass your conscious mind and go straight into your unconscious mind, where there is no resistance.

Your mind will then receive any messages that gets through to it, and directly use them to build new thought patterns and behaviors. Subliminal affirmations for golfers make the complex movements of the golf swing become a natural action, just like driving an auto. Once your unconscious mind is trained properly, your golf game will work on autopilot - so you don’t have to think about it.

Powerful Subliminal Affirmations

Subliminal techniques were used in advertising? In fact, they were so powerful and effective that they have now been banned. There are also subliminal programs that you listen to before going to bed that make you sleep deeply all night long and others that put you through a complete sleep cycle in only 20 minutes.

Other subliminal affirmation audio programs are used to help you with relationship building, love life, business success, or self confidence. They are powerful and proved techniques - but as a golfer, you almost certainly want to know how these techniques can help you improve your golf game.

The Amazing Golf Mind

A new mental golf program called Amazing Golf Mind Audio Program can indeed help you take your golf game to the next level. By listening to this program for just 20 minutes, three to four times a week before going to bed, your golf game will improve and your score will drop - and all without practicing! Traditionally, learning the mental game of golf techniques was not easy, but with the audio program from Amazing Golf Mind Audio Program it is easy as falling off a push-bike!

You Can Learn From Free Golf Swing Videos

You will find out where you can find free golf swing videos online. I have chosen several examples of great golf videos that you can watch for free and learn from.

Amazingly, you can still find free stuff on the internet like free golf swing videos. At the beginning of the internet everything was free, until marketers realized the potential to sell anything and everything. That is why it is becoming more and more difficult to find good quality free information.

As a golf writer that tries to bring you golf tips for beginners and free golf tips, I decided to come up with a website that gives you a good variety of free golf videos. Now, I am not tying to compete with YouTube, in fact these videos come into my site from them; just that I employ a script that filters the results a bit better so that you get more relevant videos. So, let’s take a look at the golf swing category to see what you will find.

You will find on the golf swing page about 25 videos dealing with the golf swing. There are many videos about the Tiger Woods golf swing - everything from slow motion analysis to examples of the dynamics of his swing. You will also see other famous names like the Ben Hogan golf swing and Tom Watson’s secrets to the golf swing. For the more technically minded golfer, there are videos on the biomechanics of the golf swing.

A video of Tiger’s swing called "Tiger Woods Golf Swing Critiqued" is interpreted by the Live @ Guys from the 2008 Buick Invitational. In this slow motion video, Tiger is on a par-3 using a short iron which gives another perspective of his swing. It is a good example of short iron play which many golfers could learn from - unlike the videos of Tiger using a driver, which I don’t think many golfers should even attempt to copy!

One of the classic videos of Tiger’s golf swing is critiqued in this video; "Tiger Woods & Bob Toski - analysis of Tiger’s golf swing." This seven minute video shows several versions and angles of his swing with a driver. There is great narrative all the way through that really explains what is going on with the different parts of his golf swing. The slow motion parts are particularly revealing as they are frames are paused to let you see the position of his club and different parts of his body throughout the swing.

Of course, you have the ability to search for any of hundreds of free golf swing videos. If you are not a Tiger fan, you could search for any of your favorite players. Searching for Ernie Els brings up many fine videos of the South African’s beautiful swing. There are shots from Ernie at many tournaments showing his perfect swing tempo plus dozens more that will be of interest to the golf student.

If you need help in specific areas of your golf swing, you can search for how to grip the club, the setup position, the backswing, or any other aspect of the swing that you want to perfect. Maybe you want to watch a video from a famous golf instructor; just search for David Leadbetter, Butch Harmon, or Bobby Eldridge and you will find dozens of free golf videos from these instructors and others.

So, before going out to spend a fortune on golf lessons, why not browse the free golf swing videos. It is a great resource for any golfer who wants to find free golf tips and videos. You can learn a lot from these videos or you could search for great golfing moments from history for a bit of entertainment. Check out the link below to find out where you can see these online golf videos.

Before you spend money on costly golf instruction, make sure you check out Mick Euan Tait’s resource for free golf swing videos.
