Golf Course

November 13th, 2009 |

The team game of golf is played on a golf course - obviously.  But hem in you ever thought what goes hooked on production a good golf course?  I mean, what makes a good golf course, and what makes a not-so-good golf course?  While we don’t bind the space to leave with special drawing layouts, we might touch on several of the aspects of a golf course that makes it merriment to amuse yourself level challenging too.

Be fond of the miniature golf course, a standard golf course be supposed to be amusing.  You if truth be told can’t add the joy windmills or extra hazards on a standard golf course, but you possibly will use the natural elements of the land to pro build challenges interested in the layout.

Obviously, the number one thing you’re going away to need is land.  I mean, you’re leaving to need A LOT of land!  The golf course must clutch more than a few long yardage holes as slickly as some shorter yardage holes.  However, for the most part golfers force agree that having generally longer holes is a huge challenge.  But they what is more need those short par 3s for a small ego boost!

Having some sand bunkers is a huge behavior to present challenge on the golf course.  Generally bunkers are located give or take a few the hole, but they might additionally be sited in the fairway for added headaches!  Having to hit farther the sand provides for everything sorts of stroke modifications, and golfers like to have the challenge at hand!

Hose down hazards are different large approach to give golfers a challenge on the golf course.  Natural lakes and rivers could be institute the whole lot over the set, but you may well furthermore create colleague-made hose hazards among digging out a large area and filling it among dampen - obviously!  Hose hazards make a player embrace to use finesse to stay away from them and make a golf course excitement to navigate.

The golf course that we star as largely often used to be a cow pasture.  The rolling hills that used to confine Holstein’s instead of golf carts make this particular golf course a lot of joy to seek and experience “up and down” on.  Rolling hills cause a golf ball to - take a guess here - roll!  You may clasp a great drive, but if your ball lands on the surface of a hill, it willpower either fasten there creation your endeavor durable or it spirit roll off the face.  Either conduct, this is additional style to make a golf course challenging.

Natural trees and woods are also part of the golf course environment.  There’s naught worse to test on a golf course than the honest of your ball hitting a tree.  Subsequently you shut in the cool task of tiresome to stumble on out someplace the ball landed.  Did it disappear additional in or did the tree propel it out hooked on the fairway?  Either manner, you clutch innovative great conduct to challenge yourself with natural elements.

Designing a golf course possibly will be great pleasure - for mutually the designer as smoothly as the player.  Cover the natural elements of your pet golf course and after that navigate by way of those hazards among a definite attitude.  Then you’ll be having merriment!

Help Your Golf Swing, Help Your Golf Score

November 13th, 2009 |

Most golfers will say the hardest part of their game is focus. The mental side of golf is easily overlooked. Ever noticed the guy who breaks 80 every single time? Why is that? Practice makes perfect. What they don’t tell you, is what they practice at. They practice at mental toughness; golf has often been referred to as 10% Talent 90% mental. When overcoming that mental side of golf, do you try to change your equipment, the time at which you play, maybe even they guys you play with. Here are some tips that are going to help you be, the golfer, you always wanted to be.

The tempo of golf is often a distraction for golfers, you are stuck behind a slow foursome DISTRACTING or maybe the guys behind you are rushing you DISTRACTING and you feel that pressure to golf faster. Let your your tempo dictate your game! Not the tempo of the people around you. Swing tempo is important if you want consistent results in your game. How do I find MY tempo you ask? A golfer can find their tempo by doing these simple things:

SLOW DOWN!! I repeat slow down, everyone thinks the speed at which you swing dictates how far and accurate your ball will move. This is true is some instances, but, for the sake of this article we will not be discussing those concepts. The tempo we are going to discuss today, is going to deal with how you approach every single shot in your game, you need to have the same back swing, contact, and follow through on every swing. How are you going to get the tempo? Go to the driving range and practice with one club at a time. First hit 20 range balls with your driver, next hit 20 range balls with your 9 iron, Next your 3 wood and your 8 iron follow this method until you have hit every club in your bag. In your back Swing you want to make sure you are coming to the same point every time. When you contact the ball make sure you are contacting the ball at the same rate of speed with every club. If You swing hard with woods you should swing hard with irons do not let the club size dictate you tempo. If you focus on your tempo you will see that by swinging all of your clubs the same your accuracy will improve drastically. When you are working on your follow through it will be the same as your back swing, you will want it to be the same with every club. Your follow through will affect your accuracy a 100% of the time. When you focus on these three techniques you will find that your mental game will improve.

After you have put in your work at the range, head on over to start working on your chipping. Start by working with your wedges, then move on to you short irons. You need to use every club for at least 100 chips. Start with your wedges in the deeper grass and focus not on getting in the hole but just putting the ball on the green. While working on chipping focus on your tempo, hit the ball the same every time. Chipping is a tool to get to the green, not a tool to keep you from having to putt. Hitting a home run is great but keeping the ball in play has made many great careers. If you can keep your mind focused on the task at hand you are going to chip and hit the green every time. Now take your 8I and 9I over to the short grass and work on your bump and run. Tempo is still your main focus you are just using a club for a different shot, the tempo is still the same though. Block out what is going on around you and focus on your tempo!! Imagine you are still hitting that same wedge, Change the Club not the Tempo!!

Putting Putting Putting! Why is this a hard thing to understand? We have now gone from Driving range tempo to chipping tempo to putting tempo the TEMPO does not change only the environment. While practicing don’t worry about how far or where the ball goes work on keeping your tempo the same every time. You are never going to change your swing for a putt. The only part about putting that changes is the distance. Start with 10 balls and putt then in from 1ft away from the hole. Move your self out 1ft for every 10 balls you sink in a row. Keep the same tempo.

The goal for these exercises is to teach your to go through the same steps every time. You are trying to create a tempo that you are going to follow, now matter what is going on around you. When you take the time to build on your tempo you will see results!! If you want the proven results of the pros you need to create a time line in your mind (90% mental) that you will follow no matter where you are, or whom you are playing with. By creating this method of training for your body, your mind will have no choice but to respond by focusing on what you are trying to do.

November 3rd, 2009 |

It is of course a good idea to allow the professionals show you how to improve your golf and so it becomes necessary to pick the right golf training guides. Though there are many golf training aids that you can pick from it is necessary that you learn to avoid those aids that are not going to be of much use to you. As a matter of fact, the game of golf is characterized by the vast array of gizmos that are offered to help golfers play better golf. Such aids however cannot do miracles but instead require having to expend much effort before results begin to show up. Here are two that can do you much good.

Pure Point Golf Swing

When it comes down to finding the best golf training guides you would do well to look at the features that come with the guides and also the level of customer service provided. In addition it pays to see how easy the golf training guide is and also how much does it cost. One golf training guide that is worth taking a closer look at is the one known as Pure Point Golf Swing that is a book that will show you what it takes to strike the golf ball the furthest and with greatest accuracy.

This book has been authored by a pro golfer (Bobby Eldridge) who is also inventor of the full swing that took all of three decades to perfect. According to Eldridge his book can show people the right way to play golf and about ninety-five percent of his students that have used his book have reported success with improving their golf swing and golf game.

So, if you feel that your golf swing needs dramatic improvement and you are willing to spend about fifty dollars on a book such as Perfect Point Golf Swing then you can, after going through the book from start to end, start to implement some notable changes in the way that you swing your golf clubs and achieve greater mastery over how you play golf.

There is another equally effective golf training guide that you might also want to check out. The Simple Golf Swing is a guide that claims that it can successfully teach you to shave off as many as between seven and twelve strokes from your golf game. The book that is authored by David Nevogt provides you with some interesting drills that can be practiced in order to achieve the goal of playing at least seven shots less each time you play a complete round of golf.

The techniques outlined in this golf training guide are simple: use the spine as the axis around which you turn your body. Improper use of the spine, the author claims (rightly so) is the main reason that your golf swing goes wrong. Furthermore, the Simple Golf Swing also shows you in great detail how you should properly grip your golf clubs and then it provides help on timing the stroke properly.

This is one simple golf training guide that provides much useful information and the message comes across easily thanks to the great number of illustrations that show you the correct methods of swinging the golf club. You can also benefit from using best techniques with which to improve muscle memory and best of all, the book shows you the correct mechanics of making the perfect swing.

For approximately forty-seven dollars this is one great golf training book that besides the many useful tips that you get to learn about also comes with a few bonuses that complement the book very well. It is really a must-have golf training guide.

There are good golf tips and bad golf tips. The question is, “how do you decide which golf tips to listen to?”

Whenever we play together he is constantly asking for tips and advice about his swing.

It is my belief that you should only give a player a golf tip if you are sure that it will fit in with the rest of his swing. I have seen far too many players lose their swings when trying to adopt a golf tip which simply does not fit in with everything else that goes on when they swing the club.

It is my belief that your aim should be to groove a golf swing that will give you streams of straight and long golf shots by modelling your swing on one set of advice. There are certain golf tips which are universally sound, like, “keep your head still.” The point is that the golf tip didn’t fit in with the rest of his swing.

Why a Golf Course is Design

October 5th, 2009 |

A golf course, it is a haven to golfers all over the world. Everyone enjoys a good game of golf on a fresh green golf course these days and for good reason, this is one sport that is no longer just for the wealthy. The game of golf is one of the most relaxing and enjoyable game on the face of the plant.

Golf is great and the golf courses are key to this greatness .Golf courses make for great exercise and the sense of competition keeps the game interesting. What is gold without a wonderful golf course to play it on? if their golfing is to be any fun at all, golfers need a gorgeous and fun golf course

The best golf course is one that will be built with the USGA method of building in mind. A golf course is designed in a manner that is pleasing to the eye while still having the absolute best playing field.

There should be plenty of slopes and hills and many a pond thrown into the golf course design. The next time that you are playing on a golf course take some time to look around at the beauty and the elegance that surround you. The amount of time that is poured into the design of a golf course is astronomical. A golf course is truly a feat of unimaginable eloquence.

They have proven time and time again the great skill with which they approach each and every golf course that they design and the designers of golf courses are world famous, some of them.

Good golf courses are not built on the cheap, they are expensive, extremely expensive, but they are worth every penny to those who play on them. A golf course is not just designed to be pleasing to the eye, it is scientifically mapped out for the ultimate in game play. A golf course is rarely appreciated as much as it should be.

Aspects of Golf Course Maintenance

September 26th, 2009 |

Since they are growing Golf courses are always in a state of constant change and evolution ! As the trees, grass and other shrubs grow, they interfere with the width of the putting surface of the golf course. These elements forming the major part of the course need to be maintained in a proper and orderly fashion thus increasing the efficiency of the course itself, in order to reduce the wastage of the surface.

Plenty of the ecological as well as community benefits must be provided by well-maintained golf courses. Fertilizers and pesticides should be used but in moderation over the entire golf course to maintain a healthy turf.

Trees are also an important and vital part of any golf course. The overgrown limbs of trees has to be trimmed as part of the tree maintenance program. Softer slopes compared to steep slopes are most cost effective and have less maintenance . Trim work is the most difficult and crucial part of golf course maintenance. Sand Bunkers require sand to be added and replaced constantly as well as raking. If the sand bunkers are steep, after heavy rain, the sand will always need to be shoveled back into the bunkers.

Maintaining the golf cart, which are generally petrol or electric, is also very important. The batter terminals and water levels should be checked every fortnight if you are using electric carts. The damage to the greens on the golf course can be reduced to a large extent by using Soft spike golf shoes instead of the metal spike shoes.

The irrigation system of any golf course also needs proper care in order to work to its full potential. If this system is maintained efficiently, it will reduce the overall water wastage and improve the appearance and quality of the greens in a big way. You can keep your golf course looking beautiful and well manicured thus ensuring a quality experience for the players, by following a few simple steps .

This was a Rotor Maintenance- Worn out seals and nozzles should be replaced immediately, the arcs of the rotors should be regularly adjusted. Anticipate change in weather and increase or decrease water usage accordingly. This will help prevent dry spot at the same time lessen the risk of over-watering the golf course.

Exercise For Golfers Pay Huge Dividend

September 21st, 2009 |

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

But I’m here to tell they are most definitely not, exercises for golfers may seem like an oxymoron . Golf is physical! Golf causes injury! Golf can very easily break down the body! Your body has to have a higher level of golf specific strength and flexibility, to hit the ball maximum distance.

The above statements are fact.

To play your best golf you need to implement exercises for golfers as soon as possible. The sooner you start, the sooner you will see results on the course.

So what’s the difference between going to the gym and plopping down on machines and doing exercises for golfers?

First off…do you sit when you play golf?

Then why would you sit in a “controlled” machine thinking it will improve your golf?

Golf is “on your feet” and in a dynamic position (golf posture).

Because the demands for golf are so unique, you need to approach your golf improvement from a different angle than just going into a gym and thinking it will help your golf game.

Exercises for golfers doesn’t just mean strength exercises. You’ve got to do golfing stretching exercises as well.

Whenever I hear a golfer say he/she needs to stretch more…my first thought is “they are missing the boat”. Golf stretching without golf exercise is not permanent flexibility.

Here’s an example for you.

Stretch a rubber band. Now stretch it more and more. What happens to the rubber band? It get brittle & eventually breaks.

Picture your muscles just like that rubber band.

The winning combination is golf stretching and golf exercise . This will give you the best results.

Take a look at the body position required to make a mechanically sound swing, when putting together your exercises for golfers program .

You can do golf exercises specific to this position, once you realize this dynamic and very unique position .

Things to remember.

• Do the majority of your golf exercises on your feet.

• Do them in your golf posture if at all possible.

• Keep your knees flexed, just like your golf swing.

• Do as many rotational exercises as possible.

• Make sure to do the follow through side of the swing.

• Do a high enough repetition to promote golf muscular endurance.

Exercises for golfers can be fun and keep you motivated to stick with your program. Adherence is the main culprit for lack of results. Like any fitness or weight loss program, if you don’t do it consistently you won’t see the results.

Staying motivated by picturing the “end-result” on the course will be a huge help. Envision you on that first tee a more powerful and fit golfer. Picture blasting your drives by all your playing partners. And lastly, paint a strong visual of you having the lowest score consistently when you play in your normal golf groups.

I hope you now have a better understanding of exercises for golfers.

Especially senior golfers in the “off-season” or winter months, exercise training for golf is what every golfer who is serious about improving their golf swing power and mechanics should be focusing on .

If you’ve read any of my articles you’ll know where I’m come from.

“Your body dictates your golf swing!”

“A broken body will never achieve optimal golf performance”.

“You’re only as good as your ‘physical limitations’ will let you.”

You heard it hear first. My quotes above are “my quotes” that I have used for over 10 years with golfers of all ages, abilities and sexes.

I have seen it thousands of times throughout past 10 years. They want to quit the game, golfers getting so frustrated .

They’re took lessons. They has practiced til their hands bled. And they own the greatest or latest equipment.

And…

They are NOT playing any better!

Why?

Because their body is kept them from what they think they can do. There was a gap between the mind and the body.

You can will a great game in your mind as much as you want, but if your body isn’t capable…it will NEVER happen!

They have the cold hard facts.

The sooner you realize your body is the “magic bullet’, the sooner you can start your exercise training for golf and see real results.

This results will be long lasting too!

No band-aid swing fixes that don’t even last for 18 holes.

Your exercise training for golf programs should focus on your personal, physical limitations to save time and money. Eliminate your limitation and watch your golf game soar!

I’m here to MOTIVATE you…not sugar-coat it!

It’s time to regain those lost yards off the tee, and get back to shooting scores you did years ago!

Get started right now on your program of exercise for golf.

5 Steps To Enjoy Golf More

September 21st, 2009 |

Some times it is just as they say, a good walk spoiled, but we all love the game of golf. Here are a few ways to enjoy golf more.

  • Forbidden play blue tees.

Unless you are at least a 10 handicap or lower, why bother making the golf course even harder than it has to be. If you are shooting in the 90’s or triple digits, it makes no sense making a conscious decision to making the course more difficult.Plays the white tees also takes the extra levels of anxiety out of the equation.

  • Improve your lie

There is no way you should be playing the strict rules of golf, when you are having a recreational round of golf. The average round of golf would be at least six hours at course all over the world.  Golfers would be returning to the tees all day after hitting there first ball out bounds, or searching for every lost ball for 5 minutes.

So if we are bending the rules to save time, why not bend them to improve your lie, something you can actually benefit from.Play winter rules all your time.

  • Don’t play same games

Compete in other categories other than score, instead playing the same match with your buddies.  Some examples would be:

Most fairways hit

Least amount of 3 putts

Most 1 putts

  • If it is your honor, take it.

You just birdie the hardest (or easiest) hole on the golf course, it’s your tee, you earned it, take it. You will be surprised how often you can have two birdies in a row if you are actually trying to get  two birdies in a row, challenge yourself to get another one.

  • Lower of expectations.

You don’t practice as much as you should, if you are a average golfer you play golf twice per week if you’re lucky, on top of that.. You can not honestly think that your games are not exactly what it should be.

Don’t be so hard on yourself when you’re not playing well, just enjoy the game itself. Even the pros have not nice days.
