This college senior was one of a handful of students and faculty from one college and one university who recently spent a month in Antarctica on an expedition funded by the National Science Foundation. Punta Arenas Chile was the starting point for the group that traveled in early February on a research vessel. The Larsen Ice Shelf became their destination and it was uncharted territory on the east of the Antarctic Peninsula. Absolutely no one ever reached their destination before.
