How To Get To Isle Of Wight From London?
Isle of Wight is famous for family holiday and also it’s music festival that goes on few times over the summer and many people are looking to go those festival one of which starts this weekend for few days. Most people just catch a ferry there yes unfortunately there is no luxury cruises that you can take to get to Isle of Wight (for posh people, joking).
So how do I travel to Isle Of Wight with my family? To get to Isle of Wight you have to catch a ferry from Portsmouth now you have to figure out a way to get to Portsmouth. There are various ways of getting to Portsmouth, one is to drive there, another way is to catch a train there or you can get a coach to Portsmouth from Central London. I would recommend you to drive to Portsmouth then take a car ferry to Isle Of Wight.
The easiest way is really driving to Portsmouth because you will be able to take your car inside the ferry and then drive in Isle of Wight, which you will need trust me. From London all you need to do is follow M25 towards Gatwick then after few miles take M3 towards Southampton and after 50 odd miles you will need to take Portsmouth M27 exit. When you get to M27 you are about 20 to 30 mins away from Portsmouth depending on the traffic. Then take A3 which will take you to Portsmouth town centre and then you follow signs to Car Ferry. Taking that route will take you to the ferry station where you will be able to take the car ferry to Isle Of Wight. You will be put in a cue for the ferry of your time then when the time comes you will be asked to drive inside the ferry and from then its a 40 minutes journey to Isle of Wight. You don’t have to take silversea cruises or royal Caribbean cruises to visit Isle of Wight. From London it will only take you approximately 2.30 hours to get to Isle of Wight.
